Do you want to make our parishioners experience a sense of community when they attend Mass? Perhaps serving as an Usher would satisfy your calling. Ushers serve a critical purpose by making our parishioners feel welcome when greeting them at the entrance to church on the weekends, Holy Days and other special Masses during the year. The ushers also coordinate the gift procession, collection, assist the assembly during the distribution of Holy Comunion and hand out the weekly bulletin. When we gather for Mass, it is not as a group of people praying individually, but rather as a group involved as a community of worshippers.
The usher, reflecting the warmth and welcome of Christ himself, is a Minister of Hospitality, a Liturgical Minister and a Minister of Evangelism. As Liturgical Ministers, ushers are leaders because they reflect the devotion, reverence and joy of encountering God in our worship service. Since some attendees may be wary of coming to a church, the ushers act as Ministers of Evangelism
when they genuinely welcome and make the attendees feel part of the parish community. It is a very important and rewarding role. For more information, please contact Ushers Coordinator at Parish Office 949.837-1090.
