Eucharistic Ministry to the Altar is made up of dedicated men and women of St. Nicholas Parish who responded to their baptismal call to service.
After preparation, they are delegated as Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist by the Diocese of Orange, Office of Worship. The administration of Holy Communion during Mass is truly a ministry. It is the ministry of serving the sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ to the people of God. It also witnesses to faith in the real presence of Christ in the action of sharing in the Eucharist meal of Christian's sacrifice. The Eucharistic Minister also brings communion to parishioners who are aged, sick, and homebound, or unable to physically attend church. Baptized and confirmed Catholic men and women of at least 25 years of age are eligible for this ministry. They should be persons who sincerely try to live the Gospel message in their communal and individual lives. They should faithfully participate in the Sunday Eucharist and with God's grace strive to live their faith in every aspect of their lives.
